Purpose of the Role

This role runs Parts as a complete commercial business across the Sports Cars Division, with one aim: the right genuine part, in the right place, at the right time, for every car and every client.

Inside the business, the job holder is accountable for parts availability, inventory control, ordering performance, warranty parts compliance and the parts P&L. Parts must support the workshop so that cars are repaired right first time and returned on the promised date.

In front of the client, Parts protects the ownership experience. At this level, a car waiting for a part is a brand-reputation risk, so vehicle-off-road cases, emergency orders and VIP requirements are managed personally and with urgency.

The role suits a hands-on leader who combines strong commercial and inventory discipline with a deep understanding of luxury and performance car parts supply. Success is measured by availability, accuracy and profit, not simply by the value of stock held.

Scope of the Role

The operating model must support multiple luxury and performance marques, each with its own systems, ordering rules, warranty processes and audit standards, without losing brand-level discipline or the personal attention expected by VIP clients.

Key Responsibilities

Part A. Parts strategy and commercial performance

  • Develop and implement the Parts strategy in line with the Sports Cars business plan and each manufacturer’s parts objectives.
  • Take full ownership of the Parts P&L, annual budget, forecasting and business planning.
  • Deliver parts revenue, gross profit, margin and genuine-parts penetration targets without compromising service to the workshop or the client.
  • Identify opportunities to grow counter, trade, accessory and personalisation sales where they fit each brand.
  • Analyse financial and operational performance regularly, identify underperformance early and take corrective action.

Part B. Workshop support and inventory control

  • Make sure Parts delivers outstanding support to Service and the workshop, so promised completion times are kept.
  • Optimise parts availability, workshop first-pick rate, stock accuracy, stock turn and inventory value.
  • Manage obsolete and slow-moving stock, cycle counts and stock-take accuracy, and keep inventory provisions under control.
  • Lead vehicle-off-road and emergency parts cases personally, keeping the Service team and the client informed until the car is back on the road.
  • Make sure Service, Workshop and Parts operate as one integrated Aftersales business rather than as separate departments.

Part C. Supply, ordering and manufacturer compliance

  • Manage manufacturer ordering performance, stock orders, back orders and supplier lead times for every represented marque.
  • Coordinate inbound logistics, customs clearance and warehousing with Logistics so parts arrive accurately and on time.
  • Make sure warranty parts handling, returns and documentation meet each manufacturer’s policy and audit standards, working closely with the Warranty team.
  • Coordinate with Product & Planning on launch readiness, initial stock, special tools and parts requirements for new models.
  • Build strong working relationships with each manufacturer’s parts and logistics teams, and escalate supply issues constructively.

Part D. Clients, accessories and VIP support

  • Make sure clients receive accurate parts information, reliable delivery dates and proactive updates.
  • Personally manage sensitive cases involving VIP clients, extended vehicle-off-road situations or rare and collectible parts.
  • Develop accessory, lifestyle and personalisation ranges with Sales and Marketing where they add value to the ownership experience.

Part E. People, governance and reporting

  • Build and lead a capable, customer-focused Parts team, owning recruitment, coaching, performance management, training and succession.
  • Maintain robust financial controls, documented processes, stock security and delegation-of-authority discipline.
  • Make sure the Parts operation meets health and safety, data protection and company control requirements.
  • Report parts performance to the Managing Director and the Aftersales leadership team, and benchmark against leading luxury and performance retailers.
